Berane – 28 September 2009: The officer in charge of USAID Montenegro, Mr. Ramsey Day visited FORS Montenegro office in Berane, during the last week of September, and was briefed by Senior Program Officer Mr. Emil Kocan about the FORS’s current activities and plans for the future.

"We are delighted with the past and current co-operation, as well as with support we received from the USAID Montenegro," said Emil Kocan, "and the relationship between USAID and FORS Montenegro will be increasingly important as we move forward towards development of the Northern Montenegro."

During his visit to the north, Mr. Day also visited the Municipalities of Rozaje and Berane. He was impressed by the willingness expressed by the local authorities and key business stakeholders to jointly work with USAID in the northern region’s economic development.

USAID official congratulated to FORS Montenegro on the first direct contract signed with USAID related to the Wireless Internet Initiative that will be implemented in the Municipalities of Bijelo Polje and Pljevlja.

“FORS Montenegro will continue to work closely with donors, partners and local communities in joint design and implementation of key priority projects”, concluded Kocan. Mr. Ramsey Day was accompanied during his visit by Ms. Ana Lekovic, USAID Development Assistant Specialist.
