During the period of 7 March – 7 May 2010, FORS Montenegro managed the application process for Agricultural Business Competition, implemented by the STARS program and financed by the Fund of United States Ambassador to Montenegro.

The Fund of United States Ambassador to Montenegro granted financial support, through STARS project, estimated at  120,000.000 US dollars for improving conditions in agricultural sector by support to agricultural producers in Northern Montenegro that are working in the following sectors: dairy, forest fruits products (berries, mushrooms), fruit and vegetable production, honey, herbs/medicinal plants. Among the supported agricultural projects  there are 13 production companies/associations from northern Montenegro.

The implementation of the Program Agricultural Business Competition has shown that there are a lot of interested agricultural companies and associations that need some kind of help in their businesses, and those projects should be continued in northern Montenegro. The Program contributed to the overall education of agricultural producers and processors when it comes to project proposal development and donor programs and significantly improved businesses of thirteen applicants whose projects got approved.
